Fun Games to Play While Learning English!

Hangman:

Hangman

-In this game, there will be three things on the board: a pole to hang parts from, a box to put incorrectly guessed letters in, and a sufficient amount of dashes (__ ___ ___) to represent how many letters make up the word. Each student will get a turn to guess one letter. If the letter is correct, it will be placed on the dashes. If the letter is incorrect, it will be placed in the box and one body part will be drawn on the pole. The object of the game is to guess the word before the man is drawn on the pole.

Sparkle:

-This is a spelling game. Each student will push in their chairs and stand up. The teacher will say a word and the students will go around the room saying one letter each. If a student says a wrong letter or doesn't know what the previous student said, they will be asked to sit down. When the word has been spelled correctly, the following student will say "sparkle", and the student next to them will sit down. The last standing student is the winner.

Password:

-The teacher will ask two students to come to the front of the room. A word will be placed on the board for the rest of the class to see (everyone but the two students). The class will take turns giving the two contestants clues as to what the word could be. The contestant who guesses the word correctly first will sit down and the student who gave the final clue will join the remaining student for another round.
